Birthdays are so hard to celebrate. Many people don't like to have a big deal made out of their birthdays because they are getting older and that is hard to realize. For those people who like to have a big party, it can be very difficult to choose a good gift. With kids it can be easy because you can ask their parents or just get them a toy. Adults are extremely hard to buy for because they have very unpredictable tastes and interests. Lots of people also have plenty of stuff, so just getting them one more item is not exactly a popular way to go. So you need to look for something that will stand out and provide a benefit or service that most other gifts will not. Something that just about all people, including kids, love is great food. Who would not love getting an attractive gift basket for their birthday full of goodies?
What makes a great gift basket on a birthday? The first thing to remember, is like any other great birthday present, you need to think about the things that the birthday person likes. What are their hobbies and interests? Do they like to cars, antiques, pottery? What sort of food might they like? Fortunately there are gift basket companies that provide a variety of different goodies in their baskets. Some even have baskets designed especially for birthdays.
The really great companies send their gourmet goodies in more than just a basket. Most gift baskets are simply filled with filler and come in a cheap wicker basket that has no other purpose. Some of my favorite containers are things like small metal cars or wagons. Other great ones were small steel boxes done up in a great old fashioned style. Here are some other great ideas for birthday boxes:
- A small wooden box built in an antique style filled with great goodies. When I say great goodies I mean things like pistachios, imported chocolates and candy bars, Ferrer Rocher, honey roasted peanuts, and gourmet coffees-to name only a few. Not only would the goodies be greatly appreciated, but the container could be kept and used for years to come. It would be a constant reminder of the gift and the occasion.
- A little red wagon filled to the brim with wonderful treats. This could be a great one for the birth of a child an for a first birthday. I also recommend that you try this gift for a sixtieth wedding anniversary or a sixtieth birthday.
- For someone with a winter birthday you might want to consider a lovely little sled with goodies tied on top. The goodies I'm talking about are things like Lindor Truffles, Fazer Caramels, Trifinni Truffles, and Jelly Bellies. These are the sorts of things that I would love to get as a birthday present. The person could also keep this adorable little sled as a decoration during the winter time.
