Holidays are a wonderful time to meet with friends and family to express love for each other. They are also a great time to think carefully about other people and to express affection through the giving of gifts. However, if you are like me, you have probably wondered about what to get people on particular holidays or special occasions. You never know what people are really going to like or what will interest them. I have been surprised to find that good friends don't like a gift that I was sure they would love. The more specific and unique the gift the more chances it has to really fall flat. It can be especially difficult to choose a gift that is to go to an entire family on a holiday. What can you get that would please each family member individually? Mother wants one thing and the children each want something else. There seems to be no gift that will please all of them and make them thankful. The answer could be a great holiday gift basket.
I'm not talking about those annoying gift baskets you see in every store these days. The ones made from cheap wicker with nothing good to eat inside. You know the ones I'm talking about-full of goodies made by one company that taste like plastic. Not exactly a great gift for anyone. However, there are some great gift baskets out there that will make individuals and families happy alike. I have seen many of these on websites. They have many different baskets to choose from filled with the best quality goodies. Described bellow are some of my favorite holiday gift baskets:
- One of my personal favorites is an old-fashioned metal-runner sled. It is perfect for the Christmas season or the holidays. It is filled with some delicious goodies such as honey roasted peanuts, Lindt Bar, Chocolate Gram, Jelly Bellies, Lindor Truffles, and gourmet coffees and chocolates. These goodies would be lashed onto the sled. Imagine receiving any of these gifts on such a delightful sled! The sled could be used for so many other things or simply as a decoration. It would be a gift that would keep on giving long after the delicious goodies.
- Another favorite is a little old wooden wagon, just like the type we used to pull around when we were children. This sort of gift is great because it inspires nostalgia in older people and kids always love a wagon. Even better is the stuff inside it such as Fazer caramels, Triffini truffles, Tiamo truffles, Ghiradelli squares, Jelly Bellies, gourmet candy, gourmet coffee, pistachios, Lindor bars, Rafaello, and Belguin chocolates. These are just a few of the many wonderful goodies you would find inside the little wood wagon.
- A great gift for any holiday occasion, a small wooden chest with individual drawers full of goodies makes for a wonderful gift basket. It makes for a classic gift with beautiful wood and sculpted metal inlays. The bos naturally contains lots of great inported goodies and tasty treats. The real beauty of the box is that it can be used for all sorts of things in the future. It will be a lasting reminder of the gift and the one who gave it.
