Why send gift baskets as wedding gifts

Wedding gifts are some of the most difficult things to pick out. The difficult is partly that you are selecting something for two people rather than one. You never know if one person will like the gift more than the other, and the classic problem is that you might get a gift that someone else has given to the couple. Beyond this, you might feel a little strange giving the new couple some totally pragmatic item such as a pot or pan. If you don't know the family very well then you probably would like to get something more festive and decorative. This is why gift baskets can make for fantastic wedding gifts.

I'm not talking about those gift baskets that everyone gets these days that are full of filler items such as cheap popcorn and strange soap. They look like items that have been designed specifically to convey an image of sophistication. The basket is also extremely cheap and made from wicker that breaks easily. You know that these sorts of baskets will only fall apart quickly after the basket is unpacked so you won't be able to use them again. Who would want to give such a gift as a wedding present? When people are getting married you want to show them that you think the day is special by giving them a nice gift. Your gift represents your support for their lives and for their union. A cheap gift basket could be insulting and insensitive.

So what sort of gift basket is appropriate as a wedding gift for some people that you really care about? The most important part of the gift basket is the basket. A cheap wicker basket is the standard but there is no reason why a gift basket needs to come in a traditional basket. In fact, if you want a gift basket that will really make an impression try to find one that is not just a typical basket. I have seen many baskets on websites these days that come in really fun shapes and designs. One is a fun little metal car filled with goodies. Another one I saw is a great little wooden box in an antique style. These are the sorts of gift baskets that will leave an impression and a lasting gift. Even if the goodies are all eaten up soon after the gift is received, the basket itself will last and remind the couple of your dedication. It will represent something important about the day of their marriage and the vows they made to each other. It will also provide a usefull container for other items.

The next most important part of a wedding gift basket are the goodies inside. I would look for baskets with things like Tiamo truffles, Ghriadelli squares, gourmet coffees, Fazer caramels, pistachios, Lindor Bar, Jelly Bellies, and chocolate covered popcorn. If I received a gift basket with stuff like that I would be ecstatic. Look for items that you know you would like and anyone else on the planet with tastebuds. Actually fillling the basket with brandname goods will show that you haven't just thrown together a cheap collection of stuff. It shows a level of quality that conveys the sort of sentiment you would like to express in a wedding gift basket.

These are the sorts of goodies that should be in your wedding gift basket. If you wonder about anything in the basket look for a better quality gift. This couple will only be married once and you want to show your support with an excellent gift.
