Gift Basket Trends

| | Comments (0)

It used to be that gift baskets were nothing special – a few pieces or fruit or a box of chocolates arranged on top of shredded paper in a cheap brown wicker basket, then wrapped with cellophane and secured with a bow.

Now, however, gift baskets have taken a distinct flair. The new trends in gift baskets make them a fun gift to receive for any occasion, from birthdays to thanking clients for their business to holidays.

The following are some of the new trends in gift baskets:

Thematic gift baskets.

More and more gift baskets now are more than just fancy chocolates or baked goods. Instead, a new trend in gift baskets are gift baskets that are designed around a particular theme. For example, a birthday party gift basket could have candles, balloons, party hats, and cookies shaped like gifts. Or a golf themed basket could have golf balls and tees, golf gloves, or candies wrapped in paper to make them look like golf balls. Corporate gift baskets could include things like mugs or stationary with the company logo on them. These themed gift baskets make it easier to personalize your gift to the recipient’s interests and hobbies.

More elaborate gift baskets.

Instead of simple food items in plain baskets, a new trend in gift baskets are baskets that are more and more elaborate in what they contain. For example, a new baby gift basket from Gift Baskets Deluxe has a handmade baby blanket, a toy for the baby, chocolates for mom and dad, and comes in a fabric-covered gift box. It is not uncommon to find an elaborate gift basket costing a few hundred dollars. These more elaborate gift baskets are becoming trendy for special occasions.

Baskets that aren’t really baskets.

One of the new trends in gift baskets is putting the contents in a more attractive, functional container. Gift Baskets Deluxe is one company known for this. They put the contents of all their gift baskets in decorative, reusable containers such as hat boxes, vintage wagons and trucks, or chests that can hold trinkets. Gift basket companies are moving toward this trend because it is the gift that keeps on giving – recipients can reuse decorative and attractive containers and will always be reminded of the gift.

Spa gift baskets

Another trend in gift baskets are those that contain spa or pampering items. This is a great way to let someone know you appreciate their hard work. It’s also the perfect gift for someone who has a demanding job, whether at home or in the business world. Typical spa pampering gift baskets include such items as manicure kits, lotions and bubble baths, hand-held massagers and massage oils, and pedicure kits. This type of gift basket isn’t just for women, either – another new trend in gift baskets is spa gift baskets made especially for men.

Personalization

Gift baskets sometimes get a bad rep for being impersonal. This is no longer the case. A new trend in gift baskets includes gift baskets with a distinctly personalized touch. This includes allowing customers to pick what exactly they want to go into their gift basket, so they avoid the problem of giving a basket that is half-filled with things the recipient wouldn’t like. Gift Baskets Deluxe does a great job with personalizing, as they hand write your sentiments on a card and deliver it with each gift basket.

These are just a few of the new trends in gift baskets.
